We have a club meeting and Pot Luck Dinner at Custer Institute on Sunday, March 2, at 2 PM.
I will keep the meeting short. We’ll limit the business to short reports so we’ll have time to enjoy each other’s company as we share in the club’s special potluck dinner.
If you’ve not yet let me know you’ll be at this special potluck dinner, there’s still time to come and enjoy some great food and even better company. Email or call me to let me know you’ll join us.
i will open Custer Institute at 1 PM on Sunday so we’ll have time to do the housekeeping chores that need doing – post the parking signs and cones, get the “stuff” that’s on the tables in the meeting room put aside or under the tables, arrange the chairs, and make sure the table along the side wall is clear of clutter so we’ll have plenty of room to hold our potluck presentations. I’ll certainly appreciate having some assistance.
And, the kitchen will be open for those of you who are bringing food that needs to be kept warm while we have a brief business meeting. There is a gas-fired stove with four heating units on top and a full oven. There is also a microwave in the kitchen.
We will have sufficient seats for all of us to have a place at the big table in the center of the meeting room.
I am sure you are sharing my enthusiasm this special club event is creating.
I look forward to seeing you there.

The Peconic Amateur Radio Club’s Station, W2AMC, will be open this TUESDAY, February 18, from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM. We’re at the Custer Institute and Observatory, 1115 Bayview Ave., Southold, NY 11971.
The station is nearly ready to go QRV on bands 160 M through 70 cm with several antennas of multiple configurations. Several transceivers will be available to operate CW, SSB, FM, JT65, FSK, and FT8 modes. We are using the W2AMC repeater on 440.50, which has an offset of +5 MHz and a tone of 107.2 Hz, for general casual conversations and talk-ins if needed.
We’ll run another “check-in net” using the 440.050 repeater (in Greenport) beginning at 11 AM this Tuesday, February 18.
Also, I’ve been asked to remind you again that the Club has a Potluck Supper on Sunday, March 2. It will follow the short Club meeting, which starts at 2 p.m. This is an opportunity for you to show off your culinary skills, which we often hear you brag about. So, call or email me to let me know you will participate in this great event. Entrées and desserts go over big! Last year’s Potluck supper was an event we fondly remember and still brag about. Ten people have already signed up for this remarkable and memorable event.
